A rare glimpse to some thousands years old tradition. This is Poy Sang Long (Festival of the Crystal Son). A festival imitating the life of the little prince Siddhartha before he went on to become Buddha. This signifies the passage to monkhood for boys aged between 7 to 14.
This is a small ordination at our local village temple in Mae Rim, Chiang Mai.
